Lost in Cheshire got Lost in Music
If you haven’t already heard, and didn’t catch our stories over the weekend, Tatton Park have launched Cheshire’s first socially distanced festival. It’s running for 10 weeks from June 25th until 29th of August. There are 52 shows scheduled in total and you’ll be sure to find something for all of the family with 100’s of hours of entertainment.
On entry to the park, you’ll be greeted by stilt walkers and some posing photobooths. All for the ‘gram of course. From there you’ll walk towards the sprawling seating area which is downhill to the main stage. So don’t worry if you end up at the back, you’ll still be able to see whats going on – there are massive screens projecting the entertainment to the crowd anyway.
Tatton Park provides the most majestic backdrop for an outdoor festival, as you can imagine. The stage sits on the lakes edge. When the sun starts to set it bounces off the water and casts a spell over the spectators; or maybe that’s the Champagne talking. Either way there was just something about being there with music playing, people dancing and enjoying life that made the night so special.
Groups can be seated up to a maximum of 6. General admission gets you into the show, a private square with luxury deck chairs, a parasol, access to main toilets and main bar area. You will be able to order food through the QR Code provided upon entry.
We were treated to a slice of the VIP life on our visit. VIP Admission gets you a private square at the front of the crowds. We were front and centre, thank you very much. You’ll get luxury lounge furniture with a table (perfect size for champagne bucket and six flutes, snacks), access to VIP toilet block (because no one likes a portaloo), access to VIP Bar, table side service and fast-tracked entry. If you can grab a VIP spot, I would absolutely recommend it. Incredibly good value for what you get.
As the performance continued through the night, the air was filled with classics from Dianna Ross, Gloria Gaynor, Donna Summers and many more of the greats. The Lost in Music team were fantastic and clearly very seasoned. They knew exactly what they were doing and knew how to get the crowd going – Not that we needed much persuasion. We were all itching to dance. I would be very excited to see more of the performances at the festival as I imagine they will be equally outstanding.
We continued to dance and sing all night long. Of course, making sure we stayed hydrated throughout. As the fizz started to get to some heads, we decided to place a little snack order. Plenty of food to choose from; Pulled pork rolls, Quarter pounder brisket burgers, chicken burgers and even vegan bratwurst! We needed a pulled pork and stuffing rolls to soak up a little champagne. We needed some chippies too, so we ordered the salt and pepper chips – Not the traditional Salt and pepper with onion and pepper and chillies, more of a seasoning. They were still delightful, and I’d order them again given the chance. The food we ordered was just what we needed after hours of frivolities. Perfect food for this type of setting. Not too messy, no fuss about it at all. Just tasty food.
As mentioned above, there are 52 shows. Fit for all ages. They have immersive dinosaur shows, kidchella and family talent shows for the kids. There are more amazing performers lined up and ready to take to the stage. Jason Manford will be appearing with his handpicked comedians, for a night of laughs. There are tribute acts Abba Mania, Killer Queen and 90’s nights for the more adult children among us. There really is something for everyone here.
