Beat Burnout in the Welsh Countryside
Running a business is tough. It’s mentally challenging and is not for the fainthearted. It’ll pull you in a million different directions; and not all of them are the direction you need to be moving in!
Don’t worry, I’m not here to provide you with business advise or hacks, but I’m saying this as a friend that doesn’t want you to burnout. Make time for you just as important as the time you spend on your business.
After living through a couple of Christmases in our business we know just how hectic it can get around this time of year, so imagine our delight when we were asked if we’d like to take a trip to Wales to relax and recharge.
Trelan Farm is a family owned working farm just outside of the pretty market town of Mold in Wales. There are cobbled streets, historic buildings and the most stunning church right in the middle of it! For a town called Mold, we felt it’s name absolutely does not reflect how gorgeous this place is.
The Farm is owned by Catherine & Wynn. As well as their cows, sheep and shetland pony Alma, Trelan Farm is home to three unique glamping getaways. The Cargo Cabin, The Wonder Wagon & Luna’s Lookout. Surrounded by our lush countryside, the cabin’s have been lovingly curated with stylish interiors complete with everything you need for a luxury getaway. Soak up the sounds of the Welsh Countryside from your very own outdoor tub, just add bubbles.
We stayed in The Cargo Cabin. Surrounded by lush countryside enjoy luxury glamping in endless peace and tranquility. This refurbished shipping container has found a truly special place to dock. A private path leads you to the final landing place of this now retired shipping container. Designed for a romantic escape for two it has innovative design and style by the ship load.
Get your phone in your bag (after taking all of your pictures of course), pop the kettle on and sink into the sofa with nothing but silent countryside, a few birds singing and the teapot whistling in the background. The plush corner sofa doubles up as your cosy bed for the evening. Plenty of mattress toppings, a thick duvet and squishy pillows are provided. After all of your hiking through the local countryside and exploring Mold you’ll happily catch some Z’s in here. Promise.
This country cabin has everything you need, with supermarkets around a 10 minute drive away. Get stocked up and stow away if you don’t fancy hiking through the countryside.
We took a trip into the local town to explore the food of course; Recommendations for restaurants were provided by our wonderful hostess Cat when we booked. In fact, we were sent the most handy link to everything we need to know about the area when booking. Where to eat, Where to shop, Where to walk.. anything you need to know about a new area, all in a handy digital guide!
After an amazing meal at Just Steak (More on this place in another review), we got cosy and caught up with The Crown and some popcorn.
As you can imagine, we made sure we stocked the cupboards on arrival so we always had snacks on hand. The morning saw a brunch banquet fit for a couple of queens. Fresh pastries from Lidl (I don’t care what anyone says, their bakery is elite).
After munching our way through the morning, naturally I had to give the tub a try. Our bath at home is just not comfortable for an *ahem* larger person like me. So a sink and soak in a tub of this size is pure heaven to me. The water is boiling, just like any normal bath. Our hosts kindly provided a bath bomb and bubble bath (10/10 bomb by the way. Silk soft skin afterwards. The One Cheshire Co I believe) for me to splish and splash with. The bath is hidden around the side, away from plain sight.. although the pony Alma will probably over to the fence to have a nosey. She couldn’t help herself!
As the night drew in, so too did our bed. Back into the duvet, lots of snacks and more Netflix for us.
As with all good things, they do come to an end. Before departing though, we met Cat for a tour of the newest cabin; Luna’s Look Out. Another beautiful cabin to the roster. We’re told bookings are available from the new year for this cabin, but don’t worry. We’ll be back to grab some more photos so you can take a peek too.
So, if you’re looking for a peaceful retreat to unwind and take a moment for yourself, we couldn’t recommend this little slice of the Welsh Countryside more.
