If you’ve been following us for a while, this won’t be news to you, but if you’re a new follower let me introduce to you, Churche’s Mansion.
A 15th Century Mansion situated in the market town of Nantwich is bursting at the beams with character, history and grandeur. Inside you’ll find original fireplaces, fixtures and even private dining spaces. The indoor, however, is a story for another day - today we need to tell you about their stunning gardens.
Aptly named the Nyetimber Terrace, you are now able to sip on the most refreshing, crisp, British sparkling wine whilst enjoying the opulence of the Mansion’s pristine lawn and shrubbery. The owners, Sophia and Kyriakos have enlisted Cheshire Tipi Company to install the most beautiful fairy light covered tipis and firepits. Perfection for an April’s evening!
Hold onto your fishing hats seafood lovers. If the champagne, gardens, tipis and firepits weren’t enough, let us tell you, the food on offer simply drowns the competition.
I would say the menu has been simplified, but that would be a lie. The menu is as decadent, complex and expertly crafted as always. It’s just been reduced. Oysters, Black Pudding Scotched Egg and Posh Prawn Cocktail all make an appearance on the small plates, As for the main plates, you can choose from Langoustine Scampi, Battered Cod and Chips or Crispy Squid. Every. Single. Dish. Is. Exceptional. I could of ‘shucked’ those oysters back all night long!
We didn’t order a dessert this time, we had already kind of pigged out on the generous portions. The cod could well have been a shark it was so big! I did, however, get a sneak into the pastry chefs kitchen earlier that day and swiped a mouthful of his delicious Raspberry Sugar Doughnut! Outstanding. The whole kitchen team exceed our expectation time and time again with their creativity and unique dishes.
The Nyetimber Terrace is open Friday and Saturday from 12 noon till late and Sunday from 12 noon till 4 PM where their phenomenal roast is the show stopper!
