The Secret Tapas and Tipples Garden

It’s no secret that we love a hidden gem and we simply cannot keep this to ourselves… there’s a secret garden hidden amongst one of Prestbury’s most vibrant restaurants, Lilac Cottage.

In leafy Prestbury, not only will you find millionaire’s mansions and Lamborghinis, but you will also able to find the most beautiful outdoor oasis to escape and enjoy a cool crisp wine or jug of Sangria. Grab your friends, grab your family and let your nose guide you along the cobbled streets toward the smell of fresh and authentic tapas.

Lilac Cottage has a one-way system in place, you’ll enter the front door and walk through the currently closed restaurant to the secret garden. Fully equipped with fairy lights, foliage and fires. Actual fires, contained in heaters of course. You won’t need your coats (even though it’s been snowing). The owners, Haseena & Felipe have ensured that each table has its own individual heating. There are further heaters dotted around with light fixtures over tables even doubling up as heaters. I know, how cool.

By chance, we also happened to cross paths with Lilac’s new resident singer, Eliza. She’s thirteen years old and out of this world amazing already. I don’t want to give too much away (for once), but I had tears in my eyes and I hadn’t even had a drink (promise).

As if managing a business, fully renovating, reopening their doors and having a teeny tiny baby wasn’t enough, Lilac Cottage will be hosting Shisha evenings (Starlight Shisha Night) on Thursdays. You will be able to enjoy a shisha and full meze platter for £45 or shisha and a dessert for £35. An absolute bargain! We’ll see you there!
